Everything Wordpress

I've reached out to sitesupport and still waiting for solution. But, I thought I would ask here cause It's taking too long as It's already been over 24 hrs since It's happened.

Yeah there seems to be a glitch in the Matrix at the moment with WordPress sites.

Hang tight as WA and WordPress are working on it.

Yeah buddy.

That started for me yesterday. I spent most of the day trying to find a solution without success, including asking Site Support who seem to have no idea of the cause because they cited the WordPress Block Editor, which hasn't been updated since January 30th!
Site Support did state that it is happening on various different Themes, so it's probably not a theme problem. So it's most likely a plugin update problem. Still investigating.

Thanks Richard for the insight. I’m using GeneratePress Premium theme what are you using?

Submitting tickets to your theme and/or block developer(s) is the best way of getting this issue resolved faster.

Without their being aware of this issue, nothing will change.

KadenceTheme.

I'm trying to narrow it down a bit first. I've failed so far, so asking Kadence support to take a look is the next step, although others with the problem aren't using Kadence.

I'm starting to wonder if WordPress is about to do a MAJOR update.

Far too many plugins are now pushing new updates... which is usually a good sign that a MAJOR WP update is about to be released.

If that turns out to be the case, I hope the update fixes this mess.

A good point, Trish.

Looks like this issue may be strictly a WA server and WP issue, fellas.

I've been working with GeneratePress WITHOUT issue this afternoon (on a Toronto, Ontario, Canada server).

And... I just spotted Jay's response to this question which is why I suspect it's a WA and WP issue only.

Yes. Site Support told me they'd "adjusted some security features".
:-)
Richard

Other possible troubleshooting include:

Check User Permissions
Test for Plugin Conflict
Test for Theme Conflict
Re-upload WordPress Core Files
Investigate REST API Issues - SS
Check .htaccess File
In addition to clearing the cache

If the issue persists, please reach out to site support.

That has been resolved, I think.

You may need to empty the browser cache, refresh, and try again. You can also try the URL in a different browser or mobile device.

You can also empty the server's cache.
Websites > Site Manager > Details > Sitespeed > Empty site cache

(Edited: The issue is being investigated as we speak.)

Haven't encountered this issue to be honest. Wait for site support to get back to you. Pretty sure they will get this sorted, it's sounds like a technical problem 🙂

Hey Benjamin,

When you use a well recognized plugin to create your sitemap that plugin takes care of all of your additional content... posts and/or pages. They get added automatically.

When you manually create and upload your sitemap, you will need to create a new one with EVERY post and/or page you add, in order to keep your sitemap updated.

So, your final decision is yours to make.

Personally, I much prefer automatic sitemaps.

SiteKit I removed from all of my sites ages ago now, due to it being such a drain on bandwidth and slowing my site's loading time down.

Once I moved over from the once popular AIOSEO plugin to Rank Math, I was able to remove 4 other plugins... of which Rank Math offers a sitemap too... making their SEO plugin an easy pick for me.

Hope you find this helpful.

I did use site kit previously when on the platform but this time round I'm using the SEO plugin provided, whether that's the same as your asking I'm not sure

I would add it manually; I don't use the site kit plugin.

Do I need to add a sitemap manually or will sitekit plugin generate one automatically?

Authoring & Writing Content
Updated

I recently hired an additional content writer for my site from the UpWork service.

He's now created 2 articles that I think are quality enough to keep.

Even thoug

How did the post get published? Does your writer have a WordPress login, so that they can publish on your behalf? Or did you copy and paste the article to WordPress? If you copy and pasted, what document/format did they supply the article in? And did you paste including formatting, or as plain text? I know Jay is going to take a look for you, but if you would like a 2nd pair of eyes, feel free to PM the link to the post as well.

I just copy and paste it straight from a word document I download from him. docx. I guess I should be viewing it as plain text then, I think that would solve the issue. How do I copy it without capturing all the formatting?

Copying from Word will capture all of the formatting, but when you paste the content into WordPress you can choose "Paste as Text" and this will remove the formatting. You can then go through the article and format the headings.

Thankyou, I will try this.

Maybe I'm being a bit naive and don't know enough about outsourcing yet but surely as you paid for it then you can do anything with it.

So why not , simply copy the English text and images into a new article and post from scratch and then delete the original. This would probably get rid of those quirks that you are talking about.

i take it you check it for duplicate content
and check the html to see if there are any spurious bits left
it may depend on how they created it, which may have left behind traces - like word does....
the main thing to do is to check for originality and that you are happy with it.
it does sound like there is some hidden html left in there
i hope jay can sort it for you
phil

All i've done is ran the content through a plagiarism checker and it passes. Also, a lot of the words which a grammatically correct, have squiggly lines under a section of the word, which is strange.

Send me a PM with the deets and I'll have a look in the morning!

Hi, I believe should matter who is the freelancer and since you hired them, you can ask them directly as you own the work they've done for you.

And if they say no, it is within your right at upwork to withhold funds as work is unsatisfactory.
